Karolinska Institutet Infection Retreat 2026

On 28 August 2026, ENT1DEP researcher Virginia Stone from Karolinska Institutet participated in the Karolinska Institutet Infection Retreat 2026, held at Tekniska Museet in Stockholm, Sweden.

Virginia presented the poster “Human vaccine derived CVB neutralising antibodies prevent acute CVB3 infections and CVB3-induced diabetes in an experimental mouse model”.

The presentation formed part of the scientific programme of the retreat and provided an opportunity to share ongoing ENT1DEP research with researchers working across infection biology and related fields.

The work was carried out by Virginia M. Stone, Bleona Koxha, Natalie Sleiers and Malin Flodström Tullberg from the Center for Infectious Medicine at Karolinska Institutet, together with Jutta E. Laiho and Heikki Hyöty from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology at Tampere University.

The participation of ENT1DEP researchers in scientific meetings such as the KI Infection Retreat supports exchange with the wider research community and helps increase the visibility of the project’s ongoing work.
