Our PI Vikash Chandra from the University of Helsinki is participated in the Key Question Group discussion on “In Vivo and in Vitro Translation Studies to Advance Therapies for T1D” during the 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Network for Pancreatic Organ Donors (nPod). This session took place during the 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Network for Pancreatic Organ Donors.
nPOD is a network of pancreatic organ donors with diabetes that holds annual meetings and focuses on various objectives within its program. Vikash Chandra is a member of the key objective group dedicated to developing in vitro translational methods to better understand the mechanisms of Type 1 Diabetes and explore future therapeutic approaches.
The goal is to establish a co-culture model using stem cell-derived islets and cytotoxic T cells to investigate factors that contribute to T1D progression, including viral triggers- an area directly aligned with ENT1DEP’s research objectives.
