The first consortium meeting since the kick-off took place from 4th to 5th of March 2025 in Sigtuna, Sweden. Our partners and work packages demonstrated the scientific progress and first results on:
- Antiviral drug treatment
- Immune responses, CVB infections vs. vaccination
- Vaccine-induced protection against CVB infection
- Functional characterization of candidate predisposing alleles
- EV-persistence and immune-response in T1D subjects
- Determinants of EV infection at the primary replication site
- Factors predisposing beta cells to EV-induced damage
- Prediction models and identification of target groups for interventions
In addition, the consortium participated in an exploitation workshop and discussed future dissemination opportunities.
Organised by our partners from the Karolinska Institutet, the consortium enjoyed a guided walking tour through Sweden’s ‘first town’ and a consortium dinner.
