Role in the project

As a valued partner in the ENT1DEP consortium, Karolinska Institutet (KI) plays a pivotal role in advancing the understanding of immune responses to enterovirus infections and vaccination. KI brings unique expertise in both in vitro and in vivo models, enabling ground-breaking insights into the intricate interactions between pancreatic islet cells, the immune system, and enteroviruses. Through the collaborative efforts in ENT1DEP, KI will contribute to the unravelling of disease processes the precede type 1 diabetes, providing novel insight that can shape future research and clinical approaches. Additionally, the studies conducted will yield valuable tools for the assessment of clinical interventions.
