The Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM) Cochin Institut is a biomedical research center in Paris. The Mallone/You Laboratory works on type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease resulting from the destruction of insulin-secreting pancreatic beta cells by T cells. Our goal is to understand the immune pathogenesis of the disease to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools, using experimental models in vitro in humans and in vivo in mice. The laboratory is associated with the Clinical Service of Diabetology of the Cochin Hospital and is also part of several international networks such as INNODIA (www.innodia.org) and nPOD (www.jdrfnpod.org)

Role in the project
