Mikael Knip 

Mikael Knip, MD, PhD, is emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Helsinki. He is also a Project Director at the Tampere University Hospital, PIRHA. His research focuses particularly on type 1 diabetes and other immune-mediated diseases in children and adolescents. He has published >700 peer-reviewed scientific articles. Prof. Knip has been one of Principal Investigators on the DIPP study from its start in 1994.
